Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting with the preparation and processing of weekly and biweekly payrolls for over 300 employees; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets
Track and deduct all garnishments, pay levies, and other special payroll deductions
Administration of the electronic timekeeping system, monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll software
Review payroll changes for proper authorization and adherence to Fairlead policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations
Assist in processing the filing of weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll taxes and payroll deductions.
Assist with weekly AP processing and yearly W-2 preparation
Prepare GL reconciliations/journal entries weekly and monthly
Process HSA uploads and 401k weekly submissions
Assist in preparation for 401k yearly audit, workman's compensation yearly audit, and state act audit
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Business Administration/Finance required, Accounting Degree preferred
2+ years of payroll experience required
Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
Costpoint experience preferred
Microsoft office and excel at intermediate to advanced level
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with employees regarding issues and concerns
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
Excellent problem-solving skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
A motivated individual who is looking to grow their career in the accounting field
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
Physical Demands:
While performing these job duties, the employee is routinely required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
This position is performed in a traditional office environment, with some local travel between facilities.
